Mom and I had a photo shoot. Did you know that Whippets have thin skin with a short single coat, (no undercoat). This can mean less shedding, and we don't stink like other dogs. But we do get cold very easily. We need a jacket or sweater to help keep us warm when it's cold outside. Whippets are not a dog that can be left outside in the weather or put on a chain.
This was my first day of obedience training. I was so excited. I get special treats in class when I pay attention and obey. But because I am a sight hound and was bred to be an independent hunter, sometimes I get side tracked and forget what I'm suppose to be doing. SQUIRREL!!!!!!!
I am Queen Josphine (Fifi). I had to be real still for this shot. Did you know that the Whippet originated in England? As English workers immigrated to the USA, they brought their Whippets with them. Just this year, 2025, a Whippet named Miuccia won best in show at the worlds biggest dog show. She was the fourth Whippet to ever win this prize. There were 18,000 dogs at the 4 day competition.
I married Jet. We are going to have babies real soon. A whippet litter size can be anywhere from 1-10 with the average being 6. I just heard my veterinarian say we are expecting 8 for sure, maybe 10!!!
Update, we had 9 healthy babies on September 26th. We are all doing well.
This is Jet, telling me goodbye. He is sooo handsome. The average height of a male whippet is 19-22 inches with the weight averaging 25-40 pounds. For females it is 18-21 inches and 20-30 pounds. Whippets are generally healthy and have a life span of 12 to 15 years. Whippets can be prone to shyness and separation anxiety. They are sensitive and affectionate dogs that form strong bonds.
Jet loves it when his family takes him out for a run. Go Jet!!!! Did you know that whippets can run as fast as 35 miles per hour? This makes them the fastest breed for their size. This is why it is so important that Whippets have a fenced yard and they remain on a leash when out for walks.

Queen Josephine (Fifi). Fifi's registered name Queen, came from her father who is Silhouette's Bohemian Rhapsody. Fifi comes from a champion bloodline. We brought Fifi home when she was just 9 weeks old. We got her from Silhouette Whippets in Texas.
Fifi is 2 1/2 years old and this is her first litter. She is very loving and sweet. She enjoys running and playing with other dogs.
Both Fifi's maternal grandparents are titled champions. Her granddam is UKC BIS CH. Silhouette's Love Me For a Reason. And her grandsire, is Silhouette's Larger Than Life, he finished his AKC championship with 4 majors going breed over special.
